Step 1 of 8: Informed Consent
You are eligible!
You are eligible for this study. Please review the information below and consent if you are willing to participate.
You are being asked to participate in a research study conducted by Grace Neil, a PhD Candidate at the Medical University of South Carolina, under the guidance of Dr. Brandon Welch, an associate professor at the Medical University of South Carolina.
The purpose of this study is to evaluate how psychiatrists perceive the quality of SOAP (Subjective, Objective, Assessment, and Plan) notes. You are being asked to participate because you are a psychiatrist with experience in clinical documentation.
Your participation is anonymous and completely voluntary. If you agree to participate, you will:
- Complete an online pre-test survey about yourself and your professional role.
- Watch a recorded psychiatric telehealth session.
- Review four different SOAP notes for the same session and complete an online assessment to evaluate the quality of each note.
- Complete a post-test survey about your perceptions and preferences of leveraging AI for clinical documentation.
The study will take approximately 50-60 minutes to complete. The study does not need to be completed at once. You will complete it asynchronously at your own pace.
You will receive a $100 gift card via email once you have completed all steps of the study.
We will summarize the outcomes of the study in publications, presentations, and reports, but no personal or individual information will be used.
